FACILITIES DESCRIPTION:
Harbour Court is a beautifully maintained nine-acre campus in Newport Rhode Island with 28 guest rooms, a full service restaurant, and unique function spaces. The staff of Harbour Court provides NYYC members a one of a kind sailing location, spectacular amenities, and a refined and relaxed hospitality experience.
CANDIDATE QUALIFICATIONS:
The New York Yacht Club – Harbour Court operates with four hospitality service managers, each with a specialty in a particular field. We currently have a beverage manager, hotel manager and restaurant manager. We are seeking a fourth manager who will directly oversee all aspects of banquet operations, including but not limited to: • Hire, train and schedule a banquet staff • Execute multiple, often times simultaneous events and club functions • Coordinate staff briefings • Communicate with party hosts and liaisons to ensure member/guest specifications are adhered to • Outgoing attitude with the ability to communicate positively with venders, clients, members and staff • Maintain high standards of service, etiquette and finesse while acting calm under pressure and leading by example • Make sure that the function runs smoothly and efficiently while having an eye for detail • Possess knowledge of food production and service • Work in tandem with special events and sales department to maximize member/guest satisfaction • Smile constantly with a hands-on approach The manager will wear several hats during the shoulder seasons that include but are not limited to: • Running a 200 seat restaurant • Acting as front desk agent/hotelier • Open and close the clubhouse • Perform seasonal detailing, cleaning and planning The manager will report directly the club house manager and our special events department. His/her schedule is dependent on activity at the club. Summer is our high volume time of the year. The previous banquet manager held this position for three years and has recently accepted an Assistant General Manager position at a major country club.
JOB VALUE/COMPENSATION:
Commensurate with Experience. 9 month position (April-December) with benefits
