BOYD A. HOLK, CCM, CCE (UNIVERSITY CLUB OF BOSTON) NAMED NECMA 2012 MANAGER OF THE YEAR
Boyd A. Holk, CCM, CCE, General Manager of The University Club of Boston has been named New England Club Managers Association MANAGER OF THE YEAR 2012 by his peers.
WINCHESTER, MASSACHUSETTS – NOVEMBER 12, 2012 – Boyd A. Holk, CCM, CCE, General Manager of The University Club of Boston (Boston, MA) has been named New England Club Managers Association's (NECMA) MANAGER OF THE YEAR 2012 by his peers in the Association at its Annual Meeting on November 12th at the Winchester Country Club in Winchester, Massachusetts.
Established in 2005, NECMA MANAGER OF THE YEAR recognizes a NECMA Member for demonstrating outstanding qualifications and endeavors as a club manager while exemplifying and promoting leadership, professional development, community and charitable involvement and overall dedication to and excellence in the club management field.
Mr. Holk is from Kansas with a degree in hospitality. He started in hotels, weaving his way through Texas and the Rocky Mountains in hotels and resorts. In one of those hotels he met his wife from Vermont. They made their way east and Mr. Boyd worked in New York, Vermont and Massachusetts.
The 2012 NECMA Manager of the Year grew up as a twin and one of six kids in the family restaurant business. He spends his free time involved with his kids’ sports and loves to play golf when he has time. He credits his work ethic, positive attitude and honesty from the Kansas farmers that frequented his family restaurant. NECMA has benefited from those traits, as he and his team spent the past two years putting on the most successful Mid Management Conference in CMAA history and donating a record amount to the NECMA David Meador Foundation.
