NEW ENGLAND CLUB MANAGERS ASSOCIATION ANNUAL DAVID MEADOR SCHOLARSHIP FUND TOURNAMENT - A RECORD BREAKING SUCCESS

BOLTON, MASSACHUSETTS – September 21, 2010 – The New England Club Managers Association (NECMA) Twenty-Fifth Annual David Meador Scholarship Fund Tournament held on September 21st, 2010 at The International in Bolton was a record breaking success.

Twenty- Six foursomes teed it up at the prestigious Pines course at
The International under sunny skies to support the NECMA David Meador Scholarship Fund, which grants annual scholarships and financial support to students interested in pursuing a career in the club management industry. Early projections estimate $29,000 plus in net proceeds will be realized for the David Meador Fund.

The NECMA David Meador Fund was established in 1975 by the New England Club Managers Association with a generous donation from the Members of the Chilton Club (Boston, MA) in memory of their longtime and well-respected Club Manager, Mr. David Meador, a Member of NECMA, who passed away in 1975 while on duty at the Chilton Club.

The NECMA David Meador Fund awards annual scholarships and provides financial support to students interested in the club management profession (read news release), and awards annual Professional Development Scholarships to NECMA Members actively pursuing their Certified Club Managers (CCM) designation as well as providing funding to the New England Club Managers Association for their continuing education and professional development programs.

The New England Club Managers Association (NECMA), the original chapter of the Club Managers Association of America, was established in 1914 and has since been a leader in the advancement of opportunities for private club managers, and foremost, students of the culinary and hospitality industries. NECMA has more than 240 members who manage more than 150 private clubs in the New England area.
