AUSABLE CLUB, Keene Valley, New York
DINING ROOM AND BEVERAGE MANAGER

FACILITIES DESCRIPTION:
The Ausable Club is a private, member-owned club nestled in the High Peaks Region of the Adirondack Mountains of Upstate New York. The Ausable Club is approximately 2 hours north of Albany and about 30 minutes from historic Lake Placid, home of the 1932 and 1980 Winter Olympic Games. The Adirondack Mountain Reserve was founded in 1887 and currently consists of approximately 7000 acres of protected Adirondack forest and mountains, including two private lakes and a four mile stretch of the Ausable River. The Ausable Club is the showcase of the Reserve and is a thriving summer destination property for it's 460 membership families to enjoy the peace and tranquility of the majestic Adirondack High Peaks. The Ausable Club is a place of local pride and storied tradition. Built in 1889, the 40,000 square foot clubhouse is one of the few original "Adirondack Grand Hotel" style-properties that escaped devastation from fire and is still standing today. The Club's amenities include a challenging 9-hole golf course, 7 Har-Tru tennis courts, swimming pool, lawn bowls, world-class fly-fishing, guideboat storage and rentals, and a variety of programs for children of all ages. Accommodations include 30 well-appointed guestrooms in the clubhouse, 10 club cottages and 3 rustic Adirondack Camps on the Upper Ausable Lake. The quality of food and beverage services is excellent and the club brings in culinary and service staff from all over the world, to operate the active 4 ½ month season. The seasonality of the Club is very challenging as many employees are only needed for the months of July and August. The villages of Keene & Keene Valley are nearby and have a nice selection of restaurants that the Club directly competes with. The facility is open from Memorial Day in May until Columbus Day in October, with the main season operating from July 1 - August 31. June & September mostly host weekend wedding and family reunion type business, with limited food and beverage services available to members from Wednesday - Sunday. This type of banquet business is very limited in July and August as the Club caters to membership families and their guests for 3 meals per day, 7 days per week, serving an average of approximately 300 covers daily.
