The 51 year old Club is owned by the 600 members and has 350 golfing memberships. The average age of members is 57 and has been trending younger every year. The Club is very family oriented with strong participation and currently has a Wait List. The Clubhouse has a Grille Room (100), Ballroom (200), Pub (70) and other dining and meeting rooms and bars. Additionally, there are locker rooms and a health club located in the Clubhouse. Other facilities and buildings include an 18 hole Cornish golf course (home of the NE Senior Tour for 22 years), Golf Pro Shop, Snack bar, Pool & bathhouse, Tennis & Pro Shop and intern housing.

CLUBHOUSE MANAGER

FACILITIES DESCRIPTION:

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS:
The Clubhouse Manager reports directly to the General Manager. The demonstrated skill base includes staff recruitment, training, internship programs, menu development and cost controls. The successful candidate should be comfortable and confident in this highly visible role. The position will also oversee the service training programs for food and beverage service personnel, to include determination of service standards and a system to monitor and improve service quality. The candidate will also develop and schedule member events and entertainment. The Clubhouse Manager works closely with other department heads daily to coordinate and lead the activities of the clubhouse, tournaments, and special events. Administrative responsibilities include preparation of operating and capital budgets under the position’s control. This includes regular monitoring of labor costs and all operating results and development of corrective actions when needed. The Clubhouse Manager is responsible for all supply and expendable inventories, including china, glassware, silver, paper products, linens/towels, and staff uniforms. Reporting positions include the Chef, Function Manager, Service Manager, Lockerroom Manager, Facilities Manager, Fitness Professional and their subordinate staff. Team oriented cooperation with all departments is critical. The Food and Beverage budget exceeds $1.5M (50% from private functions) in sales and the Club enjoys the reputation as one of a handful of excellent dining opportunities in western Boston Suburbs. A significant in-season time commitment should be expected. A comprehensive job description and other materials will be distributed to the interview finalists.


Minimum Requirements
An experienced, proven leader who is focused on detail and who can create member satisfaction and confidence will be highly favored. A four year degree (preferably Hotel/Restaurant/Club) plus 5+ years related experience is required. The CCM designation is preferred. A person with strong interpersonal skills, a commitment to service, and the personal and professional self-confidence to lead others is critically important We are looking for an effective leader that will develop and maintain a professional team aspiring to greatness.

This position could grow into the position of Assistant General Manager for the correct candidate. The current GM is less than 10 years from retirement and would like to select a candidate who could assume the GM position in the future.

COMPENSATION:
This position is a key player at the club and as such, a higher than normal starting compensation level up to $100K plus measurable and subjective bonus program is offered. Other benefits include family health insurance, life insurance, professional dues and fees allowance, annual professional convention and education allowance and other standard “perks”. Costs related to interviewing are reimbursed and a relocation allowance will be offered to the successful candidate.
