ASSISTANT MANAGER, HARBOUR COURT
FACILITIES DESCRIPTION:
Harbour Court is the Newport RI Clubhouse of the New York Yacht Club. As the Newport Home of this prestigious club, Harbour Court is a busy seasonal operation, with overnight rooms, a la carte dining, extensive banquet activities, a waterfront operation including private moorings, and an active, internationally recognized sailing program. The club grounds occupy ten acres on the Newport harbor and include a 40,000 square foot Normandy style mansion, a 23,000 square foot Carriage House and 5 additional outbuildings.
POSITION QUALIFICATIONS:
The Assistant Manager will be responsible for all facets of clubhouse hospitality operations, with and emphasis on food and beverage and hotel activity.
Reporting directly to the Manager, he / she will work closely with the Executive Chef, Director of Special Events and a team of Managers, Supervisors and line staff to execute of all facets of guest services in restaurant, banquet and hotel operations with excellent results and to the highest standards. Food and Beverage expertise, including experience in both a la carte and banquet formats is required. Experience in profit and loss management, including revenue management and development is required. Familiarity with, and ability to implement quality-control and standard operating systems is essential.
Above all, this is a leadership and service position. The successful candidate will be an energetic trainer and motivator to both year-round and seasonal staff and will cultivate and expand on a culture that is already high-energy and guest-focused. He / she will lead by example and will come to be seen by member and guests as a hands-on service provider who is personally dedicated to excellence and member-service and who can be counted on to make sound management decisions during busy operational periods.
Qualifications:
Progressive management experience in food and beverage operations, including budgetary and supervisory responsibilities. Previous restaurant, hotel or club experience is desirable.
Schedule: Full-time, year-round.
COMPENSATION:
Salary Commensurate with Experience. Medical and Dental Benefits through Blue Cross Blue Shield, 401k, club contributes 5% of gross pay. Develop a progressive plan for career development through CMAA. An annual performance based bonus.
