ASSISTANT CLUB MANAGER/AQUATICS DIRECTOR
FACILITIES DESCRIPTION:
The Beach Club, established in 1928, is a beachside facility located in Swampscott, MA with a grill, clubhouse, pool and 4 tennis courts comprised of 250 families which includes 400 children
POSITION QUALIFICATIONS:
Reporting to the Club Manager, the position requires an organized, mature, responsible, and outgoing person to assist the Club Manager in coordinating all the scheduled activities, and operate the club in a safe and friendly manner, with an aquatics background in order to coordinate overall pool management including swim team and swim lessons. The assistant manager is responsible for the day-to-day operations including the following: . Assist in training and supervision of all staff including lifeguards, office, and camp counselors with primary responsibility for oversight of the lifeguard staff. . Coordinate and manage the children's aquatic program (swim team and swim lessons) in cooperation and interaction with the Pool Committee. . Work with club officers, committees, and other club vendors (kitchen contractor and tennis pro) to plan and carry out club events. . Interact frequently with club members, both adults and children, and enforce the club rules and policies. Respond to members' needs and requests in a timely manner. . Assist in maintaining the current accounting and billing system, posting member charges in a timely fashion. . Assist in communications via pre-season newsletter, bulletin board updates and weekly email distributions to the membership. . Interact closely with Building and Grounds Manager daily and weekly. . Shares responsibility with the Club Manager in opening and closing of the club on a daily basis. The assistant manager should have strong organization, planning, leadership, and communication skills. Experience in club management, pool management (swim team and swim lessons), life guarding, first aid, CPR, and child supervision is desirable. The position is full time during the summer and part time as needed for pre-opening and post closing activities during the spring and fall. The salary is competitive.
