GENERAL MANAGER
FACILITIES DESCRIPTION:
The Agawam Hunt, founded in 1897, is a 470 member private country club located in Rumford, RI, just minutes from downtown Providence. Agawam's beautiful facilities and grounds, combined with its unique blend of elegant, yet understated, tradition make it an ideal location for members to spend their leisure time. The clubhouse, which was completely renovated in 2005, houses a state of the art kitchen, and along with an 18 hole golf course designed by Donald Ross, is a perfect site for family get togethers, company golf outings, special occasion functions, corporate meetings or intimate wedding receptions. Athletic facilities, in addition to golf, include indoor and outdoor Har- Tru tennis courts, outdoor grass courts, indoor squash, and an outdoor pool. Agawam's grass tennis courts are renowned throughout the tennis community with numerous national events taking place at Agawam, including in 2010 the Men's Grass Court Singles and Doubles Championships. Dining facilities include a 35 seat casual grill room and a 90 seat formal dining room which can be expanded for elegant larger functions. Agawam also offers lovely outdoor dining. The club is open year round.
POSITION QUALIFICATIONS:
Agawam seeks a highly motivated professional with a minimum of 7-10 years experience in a similar environment in club management or the hospitality business. He/she must be able to communicate well with and work collaboratively with the department heads, staff, the Club members and the Club's Board. The General Manager is the "face" of the Club and must be visible to the membership with a hands on approach. He/she must have a "customer centric" focus. The GM must have strong leadership qualities and the ability to teach, train, motivate, direct and control all facets of a full service club. The successful candidate is expected to have a full understanding of financials with the ability to develop and achieve revenue and income goals.
COMPENSATION:
Salary is commensurate with experience; total compensation package includes, salary, performance based annual bonus, medical and dental insurance and annual CMAA and NECMA memberships.
