HEAD TENNIS PROFESSIONAL
FACILITIES DESCRIPTION:
The 50 year old Club is owned by the 700 members and has 350 golfing memberships. The average age of members is 57 and has been trending younger every year. The Club is very family oriented with strong participation. Currently membership is near cap. The Clubhouse has a Grille Room, Ballroom, Pub and other dining and meeting rooms and bars. Additionally, there are locker rooms and a health club located in the Clubhouse. Other buildings include a Golf Pro Shop, Snack bar, Pool & bathhouse, Tennis & Pro Shop and intern housing.
POSITION QUALIFICATIONS:
The Head Tennis Professional reports directly to the General Manager. He/she is responsible for court reservations, all lessons and clinics, team tennis and staff supervision. A professional with drive and diplomacy, technical skills and a need for perfection is a perfect fit. A significant in-season time commitment should be expected in the summer and the season operates weekends between Mothers Day and Memorial Day, & days per week to Labor Day and then weekends until Columbus Day. A comprehensive job description and other materials will be distributed to the interview finalists.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
An experienced, proven and qualified leader who is focused on detail and who has experience with managing tennis operations will be highly favored. A candidate with experience in a leadership position as a Tennis Professional at a respected private club or recognized public facility is required. Pros with winter coaching or instructional responsibilities at other facilities would make a good fit. Proven ability managing all tennis operations – skilled in promoting tennis - proficient in computer software - solid time management, organization and prioritization skills - excellent communication skills, leadership skills, the ability to develop employees and foster a team environment required. A record of accomplishment at the candidate’s current position will be researched.
COMPENSATION:
This position has an opportunity for advancement in the Club tennis field for a top performer. Compensation is established based on experience and qualifications and starts in the $20k range plus 90% instructional and clinic fees. Other benefits include professional dues and fees allowance and annual professional education allowance.
