GENERAL MANAGER

FACILITIES DESCRIPTION:
The University Club was founded in 1899 for literary, scientific, artistic, and social purposes. A newly renovated, private City Club, located on Providence's east side. The Club operates year-round, for fine dining, business & social functions, and athletics.

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS:
The General Manager is responsible to manage the Club and its operations in conformity with Board established policies. The University Club is seeking a highly motivated General Manager with an eye for detail in service technique, member recognition, food and wine knowledge, point of sale systems, banquet sales and member service. The GM is the "face" of the Club and must be visible to the membership with a hands on approach. The GM must have strong leadership qualities and the ability to teach, train, direct, coordinate and control all facets of a full service club. The GM must convey the vision and standards for excellence throughout the entire team and create positive teamwork amongst the staff. The GM is expected to have a full understanding of financials with the ability to develop and achieve revenue goals. The GM is also expected to be pro-active in the area of expense containment, without diminishing levels of member service or product quality. Requirements: Previous General Manager or comparable experience in the Private Club industry, Hospitality and/or Business degree, and Fine Dining background; containing extensive food and wine knowledge.

COMPENSATION:
Salary is commensurate with experience; total compensation package includes Salary, Annual Bonus, Medical and Dental Insurance, Employer Matching 401K plan and Annual CMAA and NECMA memberships.
