Our Clubhouse is a 56,000-square-foot Clubhouse that has 22 residential units, locker rooms complete with steam and sauna facilities and spacious lounge areas.

CONTROLLER

FACILITIES DESCRIPTION:
The Carnegie Abbey Club is located in Portsmouth, RI. (Near Newport) It is a private Club that offers: a Scottish link course, designed by Donald Steel, an Equestrian Center, European Spa, Restaurant, Yacht Club, Har-Tru Tennis Courts, and Youth Camp. Our Clubhouse is a 56,000-square-foot Clubhouse that has 22 residential units, locker rooms complete with steam and sauna facilities and spacious lounge areas.

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS:
The candiddate must have a bachelors degree with 5 - 8 years experience. This position reports directly to the General Manager and is directly responsible for: ~ Leading all accounting tasks relative to the Club (golf course, equestrian, spa, halfway house, rooms, food and beverage operations, yacht club, tennis and youth camp) including: keeping up to date accounting books, reconciling internal transfers between entities, monthly reconcilliations on all balance sheet accounts, preparing financial statements within required deadlines and controlling the cash position. ~ Providing timely and accurate financial reporting and analysis to corporate management and all department heads. ~ Maintain a focused system of internal controls. ~ Participates with monthly inventory counts ~ Prepares daily cash report and weekly cash flow forecast for fiscal year. ~ Working in conjuntion with the General manager and department heads in preparing annual budget and capital budgets. ~ Monitors all proper permits and licenses that are obtained for the Club. ~ Manage all HR components of the Club. ~ Reviews and approves all journal entries prepated by staff accountants. ~ Reviews and approves all members adjustments to accounts. ~ Supervises the accounting department (A/R, A/P, and Receiving Agent), with the responsibility for hiring, training and developing. ~ Conducts internal control tests to ensure financial and operational integrities. ~ Safeguards all funds in bank accounts. ~ Provide department heads with reports weekly and measuring operating success factors including labor and costs. ~ Oversee weekly payroll Must have strong computer skills including Excel and Outlook in addition to strong analytical skills Proficient working knowledge of the JONAS club management accounting software.
