FOOD AND BEVERAGE MANAGER

FACILITIES DESCRIPTION:
The Carnegie Abbey Club is located in Portsmouth, RI. (Near Newport) It is a private Club that offers: a Scottish link course, designed by Donald Steel, an Equestrian Center, European Spa, Restaurant, Yacht Club, Har-Tru Tennis Courts, and Youth Camp. Our Clubhouse is a 56,000-square-foot Clubhouse that has 22 residential units, locker rooms complete with steam and sauna facilities and spacious lounge areas.

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS:
Position Description The Candidate will have overall responsibility and accountability of the food & beverage operations and will handle interviewing, hiring and training of all food and beverage staff and implementation of an ongoing service training program. Must be proactive in "marketing" the club and capable of increasing member utilization. The scope of the operation includes Dining Room, Lounge, Swimming Pool, Tower, Beverage Cart, Halfway House and all banquet services. This is a key, senior level management position with high visibility, and responsible for establishing the highest possible standards of service excellence. Candidate Qualifications Five years experience in food and beverage service, with a track record showing progressive responsibility; preferably in private club, upscale resort or hotel. The candidate should also have: excellent communication and leadership skills, knowledge of scotch and wines, and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
