CONTROLLER
FACILITIES DESCRIPTION:
Salem County Club, located north of Boston in Peabody MA, was established in 1895 in Salem Massachusetts and came to its current site in Peabody in 1925. Designed by Donald Ross, Salem Country Club is renowned for its immaculate condition and extraordinary design. Consistently listed as one of Golf Digest's "Top 100 Golf Courses", Salem has hosted four national championships. These include the 1932 USGA Women's Amateur, the 1954 USGA Women's Open, the 1977 USGA Men's Senior Amateur, the 1984 USGA Women's Open, and the 2001 Men's Senior Open Championship. Along with it's championship course, the clubhouse is open year round providing member dining and social events as well as a health club, four outdoor tennis courts, and a outdoor heated swimming pool.
POSITION DESCRIPTION AND QUALIFICATIONS:
Salem Country is looking for a highly motivated individual to provide support and direction in accounting and financial controls. Experience in the club industry preferred with solid analytical, technical and computer skills required. Responsibilities include: Oversight of all accounting operations including, payroll, A/P, A/R, Fixed assets, Billings and Inventory. Maintain all accounting records, responsible for development, analysis and interpretation of statistical and accounting information. Monthly analysis of general ledger, prepare monthly trial balance and resulting comprehensive financial statements and safeguards all funds in bank accounts. A qualified candidate will have a Bachelors degree in accounting with 5-10 years experience. CPA or CHAE preferred. Previous Country Club experience and knowledge of Jonas Software systems a plus.
COMPENSATION:
$80K to $90K Annually. Benefits include medical, dental, 401k Safe Harbor with club match, vacation and sick time.
