CONTROLLER
FACILITIES DESCRIPTION:
Essex County Club is located 30 miles north of Boston in the beautiful town of Manchester-by-the Sea. The Club was founded in 1893 and has a current membership of 470. Essex is a full service club featuring a Donald Ross designed 18 hole golf course, twenty two tennis courts, three paddle courts and a swimming facility. The clubhouse operates year round providing exceptional member dining and social events.
POSITION QUALIFICATIONS:
Essex County Club is seeking a highly motivated individual to fill the position of club controller. This individual will be responsible for the oversight of all accounting activity including auditing, budgets, taxes and related club matters. Preparation of the monthly trial balance and resulting financial statements including the income statement, balance sheet and statement of changes in financial condition, along with required supporting schedules and other data necessary for financial reports. Maintains all accurate accounting and personnel records. Creates and monitors operating and capital budgets and financial forecasts in coordination with the various committee chairs, department heads and club manager. Reconciles monthly ledgers including receivables, payables, bank accounts, asset accounts and wage accounts. Supervises the staffing, scheduling, training and professional development of department members. Negotiates and administers all employee benefit and serves as the human resources representative for the club. Qualified candidates will have a Bachelors degree in accounting with minimum of ten years experience and be proficient in Microsoft Excel.
POSITION VALUE/COMPENSATION:
Salary: $80K-90K based on experience. Benefits include health and life insurance, paid vacation, sick and personal days, meals, 401K with ER match.
