CLUBHOUSE MANAGER

PROPERTY DESCRIPTION:
Plymouth Country Club presently has a outstanding opportunity for the person capable of filling the most pivotal management role in the organization, a newly created position as Clubhouse Manager.

Plymouth Country Club is preparing to celebrate its 100th Anniversary in 2010. Its foundation is an 18-hole championship course, which many in the golfing community call the “jewel of the Donald Ross designs”, nestled into the hillside overlooking Plymouth Bay. The key development in the preparation for our Centennial, however, was the construction of a new clubhouse, which opened in 2007. The members’ lounge has a commanding view of Plymouth Bay. The intimate dining room (capacity 35-40) and modern function facility (capacity 150+/-) overlook some of the most attractive holes on this Ross masterpiece. We need a high energy, member service oriented leader to take command of this new clubhouse.

Golf Facilities:

  • Donald Ross, 18 hole, par 69

Dining Facilities:

  • Dining Room: 35 – 40 seats
  • Function Facility: 150 +/- seats

He/she will be responsible for all food and beverage operations, as well as member services and club administration. We envision a hands-on professional who excels at member, guest and staff interactions, resulting in a visibly high standard of operational excellence. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in food & beverage management, financial controls, human resources, marketing and facilities management. The course, the clubhouse and a reputation of food and beverage excellence are key components to assist the Manager in marketing PCC for tournaments, weddings and other events. The clubhouse has permanent staff of 10, including managers, with additional staff on a seasonal basis. Finally, this Manager will be a colleague and contributor to the success of the two others members of senior management, the Golf Professional and the Superintendent.

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS:
The ideal candidate will have a degree in hospitality or business management, or the directly related equivalent. He/She should have a minimum of 5 years at the management level in the hospitality industry serving multiple venues (lounge, dining room and functions). He/She needs to be familiar with food and beverage controls and systems and be able to analyze financial reports and take corrective action. The candidate should have demonstrated abilities to expand not just the revenue base of the club, but its overall cohesiveness as well.  We are a small community, 300-350 members, and the clubhouse is the center of our interactions. Finally the Clubhouse Manager, will be responsible not just for staffing but for raising service in all departments to the next level though training, programming and development in a professional yet cost effective manner.
