FACILITY DESCRIPTION: 
Founded in 1896 and having moved to our current location in 1925, Salem Country Club, located less than 20 miles north of Boston, is a member-owned country club with 375 voting members and an additional 200 members in other categories.  There are The club enjoys a 10-year waiting list and has currently stopped accepting applications. The average membership age is 61.

The club has a long golf tradition that includes the 1932 USGA Women’s Amateur, 1954 USGA Women’s Open, 1977 USGA Men’s Senior Open, 1984 USGA Women’s Open and the 2001 USGA Senior Open. The Donald J. Ross designed course is a 6,900 plus yards par 72 championship golf course.  There are over 22,500 rounds played per year.  Our course is currently ranked #8 in Massachusetts by Golf Digest.

Additionally, the club has 4 Har-tru tennis courts, a swimming pool, a children’s pool, and a snack facility.  Our junior tennis and swim teams enjoy active participation with over 100 children in each program.  Both tennis and swimming facilities have full-time seasonal professionals in place. 

Our food and beverage operation has substantial levels of private party and club function activity.  In season, Mondays are booked solid.   F&B facilities include: Main Dining Room with seating for 200, Casual Dining Room 72, Formal Dining Room with seating for 48, Grill Room seating for 40, Bar/Lounge seats 52 and Outdoor Dining seats 48.  The Club's gross dollar volume $5.7million, dues line $2.4 million, food $1,100,000, beverage $450,000.

POSITION DESCRIPTION:
Salem Country Club is looking for a highly motivated individual to provide support and direction in accounting and financial controls.  Experience in the club industry preferred with solid analytical, technical and computer skills required.  A qualified candidate will have a Bachelors degree in accounting with 5-10 years experience. CPA or CHAE preferred. 

Responsibilities include: oversight of all accounting operations including, payroll, A/P, A/R, Fixed assets, Billings and Inventory. Maintain all accounting records, responsible for development, analysis and interpretation of statistical and accounting information. Monthly analysis of general ledger. Prepare monthly trial balance and resulting comprehensive financial statements and safeguards all funds in bank accounts.

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS:
Salary is $70k - $90k commensurate with experience.  Benefits include health, dental, retirement, vacation and sick time.
