PRIVATE EVENTS MANAGER


Club Profile:
The Belle Haven Club was established in 1889. The Club consists of approximately 400 families. The main clubhouse, which was reconstructed in 2003, features formal and informal dining rooms, private dining rooms, deck dining, and a ballroom. We are able to hold events for up to 350 people.

Belle Haven provides docks, moorings, and launch services for its members as well as adult and junior sailing programs. The Club has six Har-Tru tennis courts and one Clay court. A short walk from the Clubhouse you will find our Beach and Pool facilities. Here we have an Olympic style swimming pool, diving well, kiddy pool, beach and snack bar.

Total annual gross operating revenues are over $6 million, with Food and Beverage revenues accounting for $2.8 million. The club is open six days per week during the summer season (Memorial Day – Labor Day), and five days the rest of the year. We are closed during the month of February.

Club Location
The Belle Haven Club is located in Greenwich, Connecticut in a private neighborhood. We are easily accessible from the I-95 thruway, the Meritt Parkway and the Metro North Train Station. We are 35 minutes from Manhattan and very close to the New York State Line as well as the city of Stamford.

Job Summary:
Manages and markets (internally) the Club’s banquet facilities for private events, social meetings and other member related activities. Responsibilities include all administrative and operational functions associated with such events; including meeting with event hosts, developing contracts, menus, marketing materials and invoices. The Private Event Manager will report directly to the Clubhouse Manager and will work closely with the Chef, Dining Room and Beverage Managers to ensure the success of member functions and private events. The position is responsible for planning and implementing all member events in conjunction with senior management and the associated Committees. Although primarily responsible for events, the position will also be involved in à la carte dining activities and visibility to the membership will be considered extremely important.

Qualifications:
Highly motivated team player with a track record in sales and event management. Polished written and oral communication skills are a pre-requisite, as are computer skills. Knowledge of POS systems a plus. Strong working knowledge of and passion for, food and beverage operations as well as an eye for detail and an engaging personality are very important. The successful candidate will have the ability to solve problems quickly and calmly, and must possess a strong work ethic and professional demeanor.

Salary:
A generous compensation package will be offered, commensurate with experience and qualifications. The position could be, and has been, a stepping stone to more senior club management related positions.
