New Haven Country Club was founded in 1898 and has a challenging 18 hole, par 71 Willie Parks designed golf course, driving range, putting and chipping areas. Supporting the golf course is a full service Pro Shop, and men’s and women’s locker rooms. New Haven Country Club has a comprehensive, well participated caddie program. There are 2 platform tennis courts, toddler and Olympic size swimming pools with full service snack bar and locker facilities. The newly renovated clubhouse boasts a full service food program which supports a 100 seat grille room, 215 seat banquet Facility and seasonal patio seating 100.

GENERAL MANAGER

Club Location:
New Haven Country Club is located in Hamden, CT. five minutes north of New Haven with easy access to routes 95 and the Merritt Parkway.

Facilities:
New Haven Country Club was founded in 1898 and has a challenging 18 hole, par 71 Willie Parks designed golf course, driving range, putting and chipping areas.  Supporting the golf course is a full service Pro Shop, and men’s and women’s locker rooms.  New Haven Country Club has a comprehensive, well participated caddie program.  There are 2 platform tennis courts, toddler and Olympic size swimming pools with full service snack bar and locker facilities.  The newly renovated clubhouse boasts a full service food program which supports a 100 seat grille room, 215 seat banquet Facility and seasonal patio seating 100. 

There are currently 505 members with no waiting list.  Gross revenues are $4,200,000, dues $1,800,000, food $1,100,000, and beverage of $460,000.  The club operates 10 ½ months per year (closed January and ½ of February).

Qualifications:
The successful candidate will have a minimum of 5 years experience as a General Manager or 5 years minimum as an assistant at a high volume club.  The club operates under the Club Managers Association of America General Manager philosophy.  The successful candidate will be expected to work professionally with an existing seasoned staff which will report directly to the General Manager.  The successful candidate will be expected to communicate effectively across all levels of the organization.  The ideal candidate will need a proven track record of controlling/reducing costs throughout the organization without diminishing member’s services and quality, and have the ability to work with each department head as they develop annual budgets.  A strong eye for the bottom line is a must.  New Haven Country Club prides itself as one of the finest clubs in a very competitive labor market.

Salary commensurate with experience, a comprehensive benefits package consistent with the industry is also included.
