PINE ORCHARD YACHT AND COUNTRY CLUB, Branford, Connecticut CLUBHOUSE MANAGER
CLUB LOCATION The Pine Orchard Yacht and Country Club is located on Long Island Sound in Branford, CT nestled on the Connecticut Shoreline amid the scenic Thimble Islands in the Pine Orchard section of town. Branford is approximately 10 miles East of New Haven, CT. Additional information can be located on www.poycc.org.
FACILITIES The Pine Orchard Yacht and Country Club was founded in 1901 and has a challenging 9 hole par 71 golf course. 11,000 rounds are played per year. There are 8 Har-Tru and 2 hard tennis courts, olympic swimming pool, kiddie’s pool, multiple locker room facilities, 85 slip marina, 20 moorings and a fine club house. The ballroom can accommodate 230, grille room 70, the patio seats 30, an adults-only Marine Lounge that seats 110 and has an adjacent terrace that seats 36.
There are currently 470 memberships. The club enjoys a 5-7 year waiting list. The average of the membership is 55. The sports facilities have full-time seasonal professionals in place. Gross revenues are $3,600,000, dues line $1.4 million, food $1.25 million, beverage $410,000. The club operates 10 months per year (Closed Jan-Feb.) QUALIFICATIONS The successful candidate will have a minimum of 5 years of food and beverage experience, preferably in private clubs. The successful candidate will serve as Clubhouse Manager and manage all aspects of the food and beverage operations. This position is one of 8 direct reports to the General Manager, Michael D’Addetta, CCM. Michael is seeking an individual with the correct mix of entrepreneurial energy and the proven ability to develop effective food and beverage teams. This individual must be a team player able to work effectively with department heads. The ideal candidate will communicate positively and correctly across all levels of the organization and operate with a “no surprises” approach to timely communications with department heads and the general manager. The ideal candidate will have an engaging and positive personality with a proven track record of providing consistently high levels of service to members and guests. The Clubhouse Manager is expected to have a very firm grasp of financials with the ability to develop and achieve revenue goals. The Clubhouse Manager is also expected to be pro-active in the area of expense containment, without diminishing levels of member service or product quality.
Pine Orchard Yacht and Country Club is seeking a highly motivated Clubhouse Manager with an eye for fine detail in service techniques, member recognition, reservation systems, banquet sales and service, employee scheduling and in-service training programs. The Pine Orchard Yacht and Country Club operates within a very competitive labor market. The Clubhouse Manager will be working very closely with the General Manager to promote food and beverage employment opportunities at the Club. COMPENSATION
The salary range for this position is $70,000-$80,000, bonus potential of up to 10% of base, 3 weeks paid vacation, CMAA package with one pre-approved workshop, relocation allowance, a comprehensive benefits package including health insurance and 401K is included.
