HOP MEADOW COUNTRY CLUB, Simsbury, Connecticut FOOD & BEVERAGE MANAGER
FACILITIES DESCRIPTION: Nestled in picturesque Simsbury, Connecticut, Hop Meadow Country Club is one of central Connecticut's finest full-service private clubs. Located in the heart of the beautiful Farmington Valley, Hop Meadow combines 18 holes of challenging golf with a friendly, family atmosphere. Whether your interest is golf, tennis, swimming or social, Hop Meadow will meet your needs... and most certainly exceed your expectations. Established in 1961 by local residents, Hop Meadow Country Club is designed to be a superior facility in every way. Over the past several years, the membership committed to a comprehensive program of improvements, redesigning and upgrading of the clubhouse, key areas of the golf course, swimming pool and tennis courts. Food and beverage operations include: main dining/banquet - seats 200, member formal dining room - seats 40, member grille - seats 75, member pub - seats 50 and snack bars (pool & golf).
CANDIDATE QUALIFICATIONS: The F&B manager is responsible for daily supervision of food and beverage operations. All F&B operation are expected to achieve and maintain a high level of service and excellence. He/she is responsible for oversight of banquet and dining staff, banquet and dining rooms and snack bars. Will also handle the interviewing, hiring and training food and beverage staff and implementation of an ongoing service training program. He/she oversees the supervision of staff scheduling for both banquet and a la carte dining. In addition, he/she will be responsible for A la carte and Banquet coordination and supervision of the Director of Catering and Head Chef.
The F&B Manager is responsible for the management of the F&B department budget (labor, food and beverage costs, supplies etc.). Must also have a demonstrated, good working knowledge of food and beverage inventory and cost controls. He/she is expected to:
- Implementation and ongoing improvement of standard operating procedures for food and beverage departments.
- Establishment of good communication between all food and beverage departments.
- Innovation to increase F&B revenues for both a la carte dining, banquets and special membership events (golf, tennis and pool).
- Visible to membership and approachable personality.
- Problem solving abilities to ensure membership and guest satisfaction.
- Participation at monthly Activities Committee meeting.
- Participation at weekly departmental food and beverage meeting.
- Participation at daily dining and banquet staff meetings.
The F&B Manager reports directly to General Manager. The successful candidate will have a minimum of 4 - 10 years progressive responsibility in the food and beverage industry. Country Club experience is preferred. Four year college degree or equivalent experience. Hospitality degree is preferred. Attributes: Strong interpersonal skills, energetic and positive attitude. Effective written and oral communication skills. Organized, Detail-oriented, Professional image and appearance. Proficiency required: Microsoft Word, Excel, Internet and understanding Club's POS system (CTC)
JOB VALUE/COMPENSATION: Salary: $50,000 to $75,000+ commensurate to experience and qualifications, plus benefits (health, dental, vacation, 401k, cell phone allowance and CMAA dues).
