On February 19, 2002, New England Club Managers Association (NECMA) President, Peter A. Trombetta reconvened the NECMA Past Presidents Council, a distinguish group of (then) seventeen Past Presidents of the New England Chapter who continue to remain active in our association.

History
In 1990, under the leadership of then Chapter President, Bruce C. Marden, CCM, our Chapter established the Past Presidents Council, which taps into the wealth of knowledge and experience of the Chapter's Past Presidents.
Purpose
In acknowledgement of past contribution to the Chapter, and recognizing the value of NECMA Past Presidents' wisdom and familiarity of Chapter affairs, NECMA Past Presidents Council has been called upon to consult the current Chapter Board of Directors in their duties of managing our Chapter’s affairs, and charged with taking an active role in shaping the future of our Chapter.
Objectives
The objectives of the NECMA Past Presidents Council will be to confer with, and offer guidance and support to the Chapter Board of Directors in meeting the needs of our association today and into the future by addressing the concerns of today’s club managers, and the challenges that they face daily in the club environment.

HISTORY OF CMAA
The records show that on October 15, 1916,a group met in New York in the apartment of Eugene Blanc. What they did has been lost to history, but we do know that on March 16, 1917, they elected officers. In 1914, Tom Jones held a meeting of managers at the Harvard Club in Boston.
